Behold, the Most Diesel Air Jordan 1 Ever
Over its more than forty years of existence, the legendary shoe known as the Air Jordan 1 has seen several redesigns. Its once high-top shape has been shortened to a mid-cut, transformed into a golf shoe, and even combined with other Jordan models. As though you had seen everything, Nike has now shown the Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn, a crazy, platform-boot-inspired take on the timeless classic. We’ve never seen Michael Jordan’s original autograph on a basketball sneaker quite like this, transported from the Chicago hardwoods to the Paris runways. And to be really honest? It bangs a little bit.

If the reigning Lord of Darkness of fashion, Rick Owens, collaborated on a pair of Air Jordans, they most likely would have looked like these. The collar’s complete tumbled leather design stretches well past the ankle, giving it a boot-like appearance. To make it easy to put them on and take them off, an enlarged heel tab is sewn across the back, and the tongue is adorned with a sleek nylon structure.
The absurdly thick platform sole is the greatest part, though. It has an aggressive, somewhat brutalist style with a grid-like pattern carved on it. The outsole has been modified with more teeth for more traction and grip. It’s also incredibly tall, so anyone who have been dreaming of having a 6’1″ Tinder stat may now fulfill their goal.
The Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn has all of the characteristics that made its shoe counterpart so identifiable, even if it looks quite different. From the perforations spaced along the toebox to the Swoosh that skims across the medial and lateral sidewalls. Even the obscenely large midsole has Air technology incorporated into it for added comfort.
The Air Jordan 1 has already been given the high fashion treatment once. Jordan Brand and Kim Jones collaborated on the Dior x Air Jordan 1 High OG in 2020. There were only 13,000 pairs produced worldwide, and more than 5 million eager sneakerheads attempted to get their hands on them on the day of release.
The $165 Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn is anticipated to be on sale in January through Nike, the SNKRS app, and a few global retailers. Hopefully, you have petite feet if you’re hoping to get a pair—current information indicates that they will only be available in women’s size.
