What is the Emface?
According to Dr. Halaas, Emface is a non-invasive procedure that increases facial muscle density and promotes the formation of collagen and elastin by combining radiofrequency technology with high-intensity facial electrical stimulation. “As of right now, it’s the only device that can address and reverse the two main causes of aging—loss of facial muscle tone and loss of collagen.”

So how does Emface operate precisely? HIFES, on the other hand, employs electromagnetic current to tighten your forehead and cheek muscles, elevating and lifting face tissue, while RF technology uses heat energy to stimulate your skin’s wound-healing response. Collagen and elastin, the two primary proteins that maintain skin smooth and plump, are increased by this process.
What advantages does Emface offer?
Dr. Halaas claims that Emface offers several advantages, including the ability to minimize fine wrinkles, restore volume, and produce lift in the face. “It also tones underlying facial muscles to provide an overall refreshed, tighter, smoother complexion.” Moreover, according to Dr. Halaas, Emface may elevate your brows and draw attention to your cheekbones—certainly the two most obvious advantages I saw following my course of treatments.
How does Emface differ from Botox or fillers?
In the past, you had to visit a dermatologist for a neurotoxin (like Botox or Xeomin) and/or filler if you wanted to lift and sculpt your facial features or smooth fine wrinkles. It is claimed that Emface produces similar filler-like results more naturally and without the need for needles. While Emface fortifies the facial muscles to give volume and lift, fillers introduce hyaluronic acid into the face. While Emface employs RF heat to smooth wrinkles and lines in the forehead, Botox paralyzes facial muscles to prevent lines and wrinkles from appearing.
I have tried all three, for what that’s worth: filler, Botox, and now Emface. Furthermore, Emface is far more subtle than Botox or filler, even if I *do* believe they get outcomes that are equivalent. I can completely remove my forehead wrinkles using Botox. Emface made them more pliable. My cheekbones were more voluminous after using cheek filler, which I’ve only done once; Emface just made them appear more lifted. For me, Emface produces a less puffed-up appearance than filler.
In contrast to filler and Botox, which take several months to show results, Emface takes longer to provide apparent skin improvements. Filler effects start to show up approximately a week after treatment. It takes time to grow collagen and strengthen muscles, and I didn’t really see any change until after my third session. However, as the weeks passed, the effects were increasingly apparent. Results with Emface often reach their peak ninety days following your final treatment and become better over time.
What is the duration of an Emface treatment?
My Emface treatments each took around twenty-five minutes to complete. In order for the stickers to effectively attach to your skin, your provider will clean your forehead and cheeks with an alcohol pad before to your treatment. Additionally, they will adhere a grounding pad to your back’s skin. The 20-minute treatment starts when the grounding pad and treatment stickers are put in place.
And keep in mind that Emface is a continuous process. “You’ll need to complete four sessions—spaced about a week or two apart—to see the full results,” said Dr. Halaas. “And maintenance sessions may be required once or twice a year depending on the patient and their desired goals.” Emface isn’t the right treatment for you if you can’t make it to all four sessions.
Is Emface uncomfortable?
Emface doesn’t hurt in my experience, but it does feel strange, especially the first time you use it. In contrast to other non-invasive procedures like RF microneedling or Clear and Brilliant, there is no downtime and no need for numbing. You can resume your normal activities following your therapy.
Three adhesive pads will be applied to your face by your practitioner: one on each cheek and one on the forehead. A little heat is released from each pad, simulating a hot stone massage. pleasant and soothing. Additionally, they vibrate, causing your face muscles to quiver in an odd, uncontrollable way (see exhibit A, my face in the video below). If you’ve ever used microcurrent, the feeling is comparable but more powerful.
Is Emface a worthwhile investment?
Nothing can be denied. Emface is a revolutionary product in the non-invasive aesthetic treatment industry. With one exception—”patients with metal in their face are not candidates for the treatment due to the energy being released through the grounding applicator,” explains Dr. Halaas—it is safe for all skin types and tones. It’s also a great way to quickly lift, tone, and smooth without having to undergo injections or downtime.
